Bay Area Dancewear – Store Policies

Welcome to Bay Area Dancewear! We are committed to providing exceptional service and high-quality products for dancers of all levels. By purchasing from our online store or making an in-person purchase, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these policies carefully before placing an order or making a purchase.


General Terms of Sale

  • Product Availability: All products are subject to availability. If an item is out of stock, we will notify you promptly and offer alternatives when applicable.
  • Pricing: Prices are subject to change without notice. Discounts, promotions, or special offers cannot be combined or applied retroactively.

Payment

  • Accepted Methods: We accept payments via major credit cards, PayPal, and other payment methods provided through Shopify for online sales. In-person payments can be made via credit/debit cards or cash.
  • Sales Tax: Sales tax will be applied to orders based on the shipping address for online orders or the location of the in-store purchase, in compliance with applicable laws.

Shipping (Online Sales Only)

  • Processing Time: Orders placed online are processed within 1–3 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Custom or pre-ordered items may require additional processing time.
  • Shipping Methods: We offer various shipping options, including standard, expedited, and international services. Shipping costs are calculated during checkout based on your shipping address.
  • Lost or Delayed Shipments: Once the carrier has taken possession of your order, Bay Area Dancewear is not responsible for delays or lost packages. Please contact the carrier directly to resolve such issues.

Returns & Exchanges

Return Policy

Bay Area Dancewear does not offer refunds due to the nature of our products. 

Exchange Policy

Exchanges are available for items that are in new condition and completely unworn—meaning they have not been worn beyond an initial try-on and show no signs of use such as scuffs, marks, visible dirt, or alterations. Items must also be unused, undamaged, and returned with the original packaging and all tags attached. Exchanges must be requested within 14 days of delivery (for online purchases) or 14 days of the in-store purchase date. A valid proof of purchase is required.

Restocking Fee

A 15% restocking fee applies to all exchanges to cover handling and inspection costs.
This fee is waived for exchanges due to verified defects or damage.

Fitting Fee

A $20 fitting fee applies to in-store fittings for specialty footwear and dancewear.
This fee is waived upon purchase of the item that was fitted.

Special Orders

Items that are custom-ordered, pre-ordered, or specially requested outside of our regular inventory are considered special orders and subject to a fitting fee.
All special orders are final sale and non-refundable. Exchanges are only permitted if the item is defective or incorrect. 

Non-Exchangeable Items

Due to hygiene and customization, the following items are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange:

  • Tights
  • Undergarments
  • Custom orders

Sizing Assistance

We recommend contacting us prior to purchase—online or in-store—if you need help with sizing to ensure the best fit.


Exchange Process

Online Purchases

  • Email us at Info@BayAreaDancewear.com with your order number and reason for exchange.
  • Ship the item to the address provided in our reply.
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
  • Once received and inspected, we will process your exchange within 5 business days.

In-Store Purchases

  • Bring the item and your receipt to our store within 14 days of purchase.
  • Exchanges are processed on-site after inspection.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your item arrives damaged or defective, please email us within 5 days of receipt with:

  • Clear photographs
  • A description of the issue
  • Your order number or receipt

We will offer a replacement or store credit, based on your preference.
For in-store purchases, please report any defects or damage immediately.


Order Modifications and Cancellations (Online Sales Only)

  • Modifications: You may modify your online order within 24 hours of purchase.
  • Cancellations: Orders canceled within 24 hours are eligible for a full refund. Once an order has been processed and shipped, it cannot be canceled.

Pricing Disclaimer

  • Pricing Accuracy: We strive to ensure our prices are accurate and up-to-date. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Exclusions: We do not offer price matching with other retailers.
  • Promotions and Discounts: Promotions are subject to specific terms and cannot be combined.
  • Final Sale: All sales are final unless otherwise stated.

By completing a purchase with Bay Area Dancewear, whether online or in person, you acknowledge and agree to all of the terms and conditions outlined in these policies. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Bay Area Dancewear.
